What is TaeKwonDo?

Literally translated, the Korean word  "Tae"  means  to "kick with foot", "won"  implies "a hand of fist to block, Punch, or strike", "Do" means "an art or a way",  Therefore, Taekwondo means "the art of kicking, blocking, and punching". However, Taekwondo is not merely a physical fighting skill, it is also a way of thought and life.

Today, Taekwondo is the national sport of Korea and is the fastest growing Martial Art in the world. It became an official Olympic event in the 2000 Olympic Games. Taekwondo is unique in its emphasis on accuracy and power.
